Horseback Riding Trails

Our trail rides offer a scenic trip through open fields, woods, and across creeks.  It is a 1-hour guided ride on our well-trained trail horses.  These rides are intended for riders of any riding experience, regardless if you are bringing the kids out for the first time or just looking for a fun, relaxing experience.  The rides are $40.00 (cash or credit, group rates available for larger parties) per rider and are scheduled by reservation only.  816-450-8636

Weston Bend State Park

Not far from the hustle and bustle of Kansas City, Weston Bend State Park offers secluded picnic sites, a campground and sweeping views of the Missouri River from trails and a scenic overlook accessible to persons with disabilities. A 3-mile paved bicycle trail takes hikers and bikers through the park’s woody terrain.

Parkville Nature Sanctuary

The Parkville Nature Sanctuary is a wildlife preserve and educational site developed and maintained by the City with the help of a group of extraordinary volunteers. It is a 115 acre natural outdoor area made accessible by nearly three miles of hiking trails. Daily operations of the sanctuary are overseen by a part-time director. The main entrance of the Parkville Nature Sanctuary is at 12th Street off Highway 9, down the hill from the Platte County Health Department.

English Landing Park

English Landing Park is a 68-acre facility with several amenities, including three miles of walking trails, a large playground area, a boat ramp, picnic shelters, sand volleyball court and a disc golf course. The park is sure to satisfy anyone wanting to take advantage of the great outdoors. The park, with its scenic walking trails that closely parallel the winding Missouri River, is like none other in the metro area. English Landing Park attracts a wide variety of users from bicyclists to walking or running enthusiasts; there is a recreation outlet for all to enjoy. English Landing Park is open daily from 5:30 a.m. until midnight.
